I recently attended another tasting event from Spot And Tell, and this time me and a group of bloggers had the pleasure of meeting with one of the most experienced Swedish tradespeople in spirits – Eric Berntson. During the evening we tried five newly released different ecological “snaps” from Snälleröds, a type of liquor with heavy cultural significance here up north – and they were paired with exquisite pieces of traditional Swedish “smorgasbord” food.
But before the tasting event started I sat down with Eric to ask him about the craft of snaps/akvavit production, as well as the whole cultural background that explains how this delicious tradition came to be. And Eric had some very interesting insights to share…
Be sure to take a look at this interview to gleam into the mind of a person full of knowledge in the noble traditions surrounding our enjoyment of good food and drinks – I really appreciate getting the chance to sit down with such an expert as Eric. I’m sure you’ll learn a thing or two – I sure did!
